| Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary |
|
Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation and
release of wildlife in Kentucky. Founded by former Kentucky State Legislator, Mary Ann Tobin, Broadbent Wildlife
Sanctuary has been providing care to animals in need for over a decade. Owls, hawks, deer, squirrels, foxes, raccoons and
songbirds are just a few of the hundreds of species cared for at Broadbent. Broadbent staff travels throughout the state to rescue sick, injured or orphaned wildlife, responding
to calls from the public, veterinarians, and wildlife officials. Our full-time staff veterinarian provides life-saving
medical treatment in our clinic, and the animals recover under the supervision of our state- and federally-licensed wildlife
rehabilitators. Orphaned baby birds and mammals are hand-fed
by specially-trained nursery staff until they are ready to be released back into the wild. Animals that are permanently
disabled may live out their lives at the sanctuary, provided they have a good quality of life, in habitats designed to exceed
state and federal requirements. Education is a priority, and plans are underway for an on-site Educational Center where children
and adults can learn about our native wildlife and environment.
Help for wildlife 24 hours a day,
7 days a week, call (270) 547-4200.
